Reeling Them In: Kids Fishing Derby Saturday.

We gotta admit: Schroon is one lucky lake to boast THREE Kids Fishing Competitions. This weekend’s Val and Lorraine DeCesare Kids Fishing Contest joins the Schroon Lake Fish and Game Club’s Ice Fishing Derby and the Club’s Kids Fish Fishing Derby, coming up in July. The comp last year attracted 30 kids and raised $330 for the DeCesare scholarship fund, of which $250 was awarded to a Schroon Lake Central School Senior. 

This weekend’s free event takes place at the Town Docks from 9 am to 12 noon (June 27, 2015) and is open to youngsters up to 15 years old.

Each participant  can expect a goodie bag and pizza lunch donated by DeCesare’s Pizzeria and an assortment of prizes donated by area businesses for winners in several categories. A bake sale will also be held.
