Summer Comes To Schroon This Weekend
/It's a huge weekend in Schroon. (Friday June 19 - June 21st, 2015). Starting tonight at Witherbee’s Carriage House one of the Adirondacks best songwriters Linda Van Norman AKA Linda Fayte, will be performing starting around 7pm.
On Saturday, it’s a jam packed day.
Curtis Lumber has their Pet-A-Palloza Pet Adoption Day, starting at 10am and going to 3pm. Check out what little creatures will be available for adoption at their Schroon Lake store. For more information, click here.
Keeping with the animal theme, there’s the annual Woofstock weekend and doggie events in Chestertown.
So grab your Tie-Dye and go back to 1969 for a weekend of Woof and Peace, Paws & Music. Bring your four legged friend (or adopt one there from North Shore Animal League America) and try Dock Diving with the Hudson Valley Dock Dogs, show off your dog’s catching skills with the Bean Town Disc Dogs or try Doggie Fun Zone 's Agility and Lure Chasing course. Live music, food and vendors all weekend long!
A big thanks to the Town Of Chester for giving Adirondack Woof Stock permission to fill up the Dock Dogs swimming pool with town water. Mascot "Chester" is soooo happy!!!!
On Saturday there’s an all day celebration for the ‘Dacks legendary Grace Hudowalski -- and the official renaming of Grace Peak -- sponsored by The ADK Forty-Sixers and the Town of North Hudson.
The festivities take place at the Town of North Hudson Park, off State Route 9. Admission to the celebration is by donation with all proceeds going to support the Town of North Hudson Fire Department and the Adirondack Mountain Club’s Summit Steward Program.
Food and beverages will be available for sale including bison burgers from the Adirondack Buffalo Company, salads and baked beans from Elk Lake Lodge, and strawberry shortcake, served by The Schroon Lake /North Hudson Historical Society. Paradox Brewing will have a beer, brewed especially for the occasion, for sale along with a commemorative mug.
At Giant Mountain Studio in Schroon Lake, (Main Street and the corner of Leland Avenue), there’s the grand opening of a new group exhibition, Waxing Adirondack Artistic, starting at 6pm..
From Gallery owner and curator Anthony Ruiz: “Varied media including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, cold wax medium, encaustic, pencil, photography, digital artwork, sculpture, rustic furniture, woodwork, carved stone, handmade baskets, stained glass, pottery and more.

Saturday night, rock out to the Willie Playmore band, on the lawn at Sticks and Stones.
On Sunday, it’s day two of Woofstock, the official start of summer and Dad’s Day!!! Enjoy.
