New Owners For Pottersville's Wells House

Rejoice: The Wells House has been sold. The new owners are John MacMillen and his brother. We welcome the next generation of caretakers of this historic landmark with a big round of applause.

Bringing this gem back to life  gives the folks in south Schroon and surrounding towns a place to call their own,  as well as giving Pottersville a much needed punch in the arm.

And it seems the new owners are rearing to go. They are now hiring experienced wait staff, bartenders, line cooks, cooks and a restaurant & bar manager.

We previously reported the historic Wells House was for sale for $299,000, excluding the liquor license. Many considered the sales price a bargain. The three story building comes complete with a turn-key bar and restaurant, with 11 completely renovated rooms – including an owner’s apartment -- two dining rooms and an Adirondack style tavern with an amazing fireplace. It’s literally a stone’s throw from the Northway at exit 26.

We have a call into the new owners and hope to bring you the inside scoop, soon! For information on the jobs, call 518- 494-3616.
