Natalie  -- aka Natasha – A Canadian and part time Schroon Laker is an amazing dancer. But not just any dancer – a belly dancer, who teaches not only this artful dance, but the health benefits of shimmy, shimmy, shimmy as well!

This Saturday, (May 17, 2014) she will be here and teaching a special Bellydance class at True North Yoga. From True North’s Deb Philp:

“Come warm up for her ‘Summer Belly Dance Workshop Series and unlock your inner goddess! Perfect class for anyone! If you have participated in previous workshops or the monthly Bellydance jams you will love the refresher. If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience this beautiful dance, this is your chance! Hip scarves will be provided for students to wear during class. $10

Giddy Up Cowboy (and girls!)  at Word of Life Family Fun night and Rodeo. The action begins at 7 pm at the WOL Ranch with a family fair -- moon bounce, petting zoo and snack bar -- with the rodeo at 8 pm.

Shimmy Your Way To A Healthful You

Our friend over at True North Yoga Deb Philp, knows a thing or two about  getting in touch with your inner zen, as well keeping healthy. So when Deb told us that belly dancing is good for you, we were intrigued. Today, Belly Dancing Guru Natalie, from Montreal – who summers right here in Schroon --  continues her workshops at True North, with a class called “Shimmy, Shimmy, Shimmy”.

Don’t be intimidated. This workshop is designed for newbies to the exotic world of belly dancing. This class will teach the basic hip and shoulder shimmies and focus on correct posture and how to move all the moving parts of your body needed to pull this off. It’s from  1 pm – 3pm.
