Huge congrats go out to Joel Friedman, who was last night named Citizen of the Year by the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce.

"We are thrilled to announce that Joel is this year's recipient," President Tony Kostecki told Scroon Laker. "This award is deserved on so many levels."

Joel becomes the third Friedman to receive this honor, joining his brother Roger and late father Moe.

The award recognizes outstanding contributions by an individual or community organization to the greater Schroon community.

Among Joel's many contributions to Schroon, is bringing the Adirondack Marathon and Distance Festival to our area, as well as years of dedicated service to the Seagle Music Colony. We'll have more on this story later today.
