New Twilight Music And More Replaces Schroon’s Summer Square Dancing for 2021

Schroon’s famous Wednesday Night Summer Square Dance is on hold. But there will be plenty of music each and every Wednesday night this year with a new program: Twilight Music and More”, proudly presented by the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce. More from the Chamber:

“While we love our tradition of Summer Square Dancing, we need to wait one more season until everyone is comfortable with the promenades, joining hands, and swing-your-partners that are what the dancing is all about. But we still wanted to offer a FREE Wednesday night program with music and dancing, and especially support our local musicians who were hard hit over the past year. We're excited to present an AMAZING concert line-up beginning July 7 featuring some of the area's best musicians. We hope you join us Wednesday evenings outdoors at the Bandstand for Twilight Music & More.”

Monday Night Band Jam is Back

Schroon’s famous Monday night band jam at the BoatHouse is back. This acoustic only event starts tonight (June 14) and runs through the late summer from 7 pm – 9 pm. Everyone is welcome at this free event. Never been to the Boathouse acoustic jam? The talent is amazing -- and there's always an eclectic range of musicians (and instruments) onstage. Sponsored by the Schroon Lake Arts Council.

After a break due to the pandemic — an area favorite is back: The North Hudson Car Show. More from the North Hudson Volunteer Fire Department.

“Hey everyone! Lots of new info coming at you. Thank you to everyone who has been understanding as we make changes and add new activities. We will be having donation buckets placed around the event.

First off, we want to make sure everyone is going to the correct location.

Address: 4010 Blue Ridge Rd, North Hudson, NY 12855-2208, United States

Take exit 29 and head into North Hudson. The A-frame is across from the Sunoco.

Second: We are having our usual 50/50! Drawing is at 2:30pm and you MUST be there in order to win it. Prices are: 1 ticket= $1 — 6 tickets= $5 — 20 tickets= $10

Third: Contests! We will be having two car related contests. A Burn Out contest and a Muffler Rap contest. These will take place between 11:30am- 2:00pm. Tickets will be $5 to participate in these events.

Last but not least: Sherry Lee will be performing country/rock/folk and will collaborate with Matoaka Little Eagle for a touch of contemporary Native music and storytelling at 3 pm in front of the A-frame”
